Alright, we are 3 weeks in. Did not get enough walking in this past several days. Been going out and been busy, but def need to get back to regular and longer walks. Still no alcohol as we are starting week 4. I’m eating my favorite low carb food daily (I am able to eat the same thing over and over, which can be an advantage) and have tried a few new recipes. Cream cheese waffles are delicious. My main course has been a cream cheese and broccoli dish with tomatoes and beef and jalapeno’s. So I’m eating well and love the food. When I’m out, I order salads and drink water (I’m not drinking alcohol for 5 weeks right now, which is big for me) I’ve also been getting my green smoothies in daily. These are great to get you tons of vitamins, good for cleansing your system and actually quite filling.
After 3 weeks I’m down to 260lbs, so I’m down 14lbs so far. Now while this is a decent amount, I should be doing better and getting more exercise. It’s a good start, but after doing multiple different diets over the past 20ish years, this 1st 10-12lbs seems to come off pretty quickly. After that, it typically slows down and most places suggest only losing 1-2lbs per week for safety concerns (and I’m sure this is good advice!)
I’m not trying to put a time limit on my weight loss. Like, I’m not setting a hard date and trying to freak myself out about it. Hard dates have never worked for me. I am being serious about not drinking, and this has actually been pretty good. I don’t know that I ‘want’ to get into multiple details/thoughts, but I’m a pretty heavy drinker. Never seriously considered quitting quitting, but I do drink a fair amount. The amount picked up quite a bit during the pandemic, but that’s been ended and my drinking didn’t slow down. I don’t get angry when I drink, I don’t go start fights or get in trouble. I just get happy. And it became very normal for me to have 10ish white claws in a night…and then do that 3 or 4 nights a week…it’s a lot. Now that I’ve been 3 weeks without alcohol, it’s been pretty good. While I don’t currently intend on totally quitting, it would be a very good idea for me to cut it down quite a bit.
So that’s where we are at through 3 weeks on this journey…weight loss is going well, but need to get more exercise in. Food hasn’t been an issue, so far. I don’t “feel” like I’m even really dieting. Just telling myself no to things like fast food and burgers. Not going to McDonald’s for breakfast, no Subway sandwiches, etc. A lot of life reasons I need to lose weight, like my knees and my back have been in bad shape. That is part of my motivation. These knees need to get better quick haha.

I hate Monday’s :)
Alright, let’s get started. My weigh in was interesting today. I weighed in at the exact weight I was before I went on the golf trip. Couple ways to look
